Place the sample beside the other proposed finishes. Compare it under daylight and the lighting planned for the room, including the direction from which the main surfaces will be seen.
Record what you approved
Keep the reference code, finish and agreed specification with your project notes. Ask to review the larger pattern when grain movement matters; a small sample shows only part of a decorative surface.
