Overview
The HT 20plus from Mayr-Melnhof Holz is a 200 mm timber I-beam made in Reuthe, Austria. Its flanges are strength-graded, finger-jointed spruce and fir of at least C24, joined to a 3-ply solid wood web with a type I melamine-resin adhesive, and the whole beam is impregnated with a yellow water-based glaze and fitted with plastic end caps against splitting. It weighs 4.4 kg per metre and is rated at 5 kNm in bending and 11 kN in shear. Saedy stocks it in 3.90, 4.50 and 5.90 m lengths.
