Overview
Dark red meranti is a medium-weight South-East Asian hardwood with a reddish-brown colour and a coarse, fairly straight grain. It is easy to work, holds fixings well and comes in long clean lengths, which makes it the standard choice for door and window frames, architraves and general interior joinery. It is only moderately durable outdoors.
