Tulipwood (Poplar)

The paint-grade hardwood: light, stable and economical.

Interior

Overview

American tulipwood is a light, straight-grained hardwood with a creamy sapwood and a heartwood that ranges from pale yellow-green to olive. It is soft for a hardwood, machines cleanly, glues well and takes paint beautifully, which makes it the sensible choice for painted joinery, mouldings, furniture frames and drawer sides.
